To Go Home or Not to Go Home

The internal medicine doctor is not releasing dad to go home yet. We have not yet found a good dose of medicine that keeps dad comfortable without knocking him out. Until we can come to this balance, dad is not going home. We are at peace with this and think that it is best for dad right now.
His cancer dr. will not be back in town until Monday. So, there is no more news as far as the cancer (meaning how rapidly it is moving, what we can expect, and treatment options if any).
Right now dad is resting... for the first time all day, really. He has been frustrated today. I don't think he yet has a grip on what is wrong, which could be because of the amount of medicine that he is on. Yesterday it seemed like he understood. Today he asked the dr. when he would be recovering, which leads us to believe the news is still sinking in.

Our new prayer request is for rest and endurance for family as we have to come back and forth all weekend. Also for my mom, Debbie. She is strong and courageous but a little weak today. We are reminding her to eat and rest. She needs strength and rest tonight.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

  1. Dear Debbie, Priscilla, and Raymond, Just want you to know that you have been in our prayers, continually. This is such a difficult time and please know that your suffering is not alone. God's will be done and that you know how much your loved and cared for.
    Sincerely,
Sherry, Timothy, David, Christina and Caleb

  2. Cilla,

A friend's dad found out a couple of weeks ago that he has cancer in his lungs and it has spread to his brain. She posted a status update on Facebook this morning saying that her brother and sister are ready to give up on him but she will not give up. A lady commented on her status and I wanted to share it with all of you what she said. Be encouraged and NEVER give up!!!! Here it is....
"NEVER EVER GIVE UP. I went to church with a gentleman years ago had cancer and the doctor told him while he was in the hospital that there was no hope for him the cancer had just spread to much to do anything. The church started a prayer vigial (can't spell) and with 48 hours ALL the cancer was gone and he is healthy to this day. The Lord can heal all things no matter how it looks."

    Love to you all,
    Traci
