Dad's Inner Core

They say that when you are heavily sedated your inner person comes out. You say things you normally would not and your demeanor can change.
Dad has been under ALOT of heavy medication this week. The 2 things I have seen come out of his inner person are joy and peace. Of course he is suffering from the normal side effects. Yesterday in his sleep he was talking about jet propellers or something! But, in general, he is peaceful and joyful.
This kind of peace and joy only comes from a deep walk with Jesus. It comes from a trust and dependence on Him that only a deep relationship can produce.
My dad walks daily with God. He engulfs himself in God's Word. He prays fervently. These are things we tend to see on the surface of ones life and think "Man, he is so spiritual". Now I can see that dad is not spiritual at all. He has a deep relationship with our Most Holy God. At a time like this, when dad NEEDS God, He is already close.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Your dad led Chip and I to a closer walk with Jesus, and we are so thankful for him. Y'all welcomed us into your home when we were new to Jacksonville, and showed the love of Christ to us. Although we have not been in contact for a few years (and it's times like these when you ask yourself why not), I remember your father's deep faith and love of Jesus and it still inspires me to walk closer still with our Lord.. Thank you for keeping this record so that we can all know the needs your family has. God Bless you Pricilla. Please give our love to your dad and mom and Raymond
